Air Force HQ (1^st) responded to the media report on the case “Night vision system of P-3C talked down” and said P-3C aircraft was procured on the basis of legitimacy. All equipment on the aircraft conformed US contract and the performance met the combat requirement to efficiently operate in an anti-submarine mission.

Air Force HQ indicated that the core task of P-3C is supporting the navy in an anti-submarine mission. Taiwan has been sophisticated at anti-submarine combat and only the combat personnel passes the tough examination can they join the exercise.

Air Force HQ emphasized that P-3C aircrafts operate in an anti-submarine mission or reconnaissance under the order of the joint command centre giving integrated intelligence to exploit their combat ability.
